The Trail
This year we have 90+ miles of trail marked for the A and B groups and another 20+ miles for the extreme loop on Sunday. The first loop is around 35 miles. Each loop finishes in camp so be sure to gas up prior to leaving for the next loop. The loops on Saturday will be marked with orange tape. A groups will follow red tape at splits and B groups will follow blue tape. Your guides will stop at all splits to make sure that groups remain together. The extreme loop is marked with neon green tape and should only be followed on Sunday. There will be places that you see green and orange on the same section of trail, don’t panic as there are transfer sections for the extreme loop that use the main loop. Your guides will know where to go. The trail is marked for trail riding so please keep that in mind. Stay on trail and don’t shortcut if you see another rider, you might end up in a hole or cutting off much more trail than you think you will be. Most groups will only complete two loops on Saturday and then will go out on Sunday to finish the third loop or do a combination of favorite trail from the previous day.

Guided rides, what to expect:
This is a trail ride, not a race. Riders will be split among guides into predetermined groups. The group name on your wristband is the group that you must start with first Saturday morning. If you would like to move to a more challenging group later in the day (from a B group to an A group), we will accommodate you. Please trust our judgement as we have experience with varying levels at this property. If the group that you elected to go with is having to wait an excessive amount, you will be moved to another group; that doesn’t mean to go faster and get hurt. It’s for the safety and enjoyment of everyone who made the trip to be here. All groups will ride trails that consist of flowing cedar sections, riverbeds, canyons, bulldozer cuts, and more! There will be multiple stops to enjoy the views and regroup along the way. Pace yourself as it is a long weekend of riding. If after two loops of riding, you don’t want to go out for a third loop please make sure that you have informed your guide. This year we will be riding across the highway and that requires groups to briefly ride across hwy 669 to a gate. We will have a person there to assist a safe crossing but please be sure to stop and look both ways multiple times before crossing. Your group is not going to leave you behind if you wait a few seconds longer to make sure the road is clear. We have had an extremely dry fall so if you’re on a four-stroke you must have header wrap on your bike to participate. Please be mindful to not stop in tall grass, this is how fires can start. Many of the trails run down creek beds so be sure to ride the edges or banks if you see a sink hole or big mud rut in front of you.
Extreme ride, what to expect:
The extreme ride will feature challenging expert level terrain. You can expect hill climbs, big descents, and very technical river beds littered with rocks. If you like challenging yourself, this is for you. If the Saturday loop gave you fits, this is not for you. Guides will be there to help anyone through obstacles that may need it. There will be bailout options for those that don’t wish to complete an certain obstacles. This ride will make the bench racing on the way home that much better! The extreme ride is much more about technical riding than it is going fast. Most sections will be first and second gear only but your heart rate will be up! Make sure your clutch and brakes are in good operating condition.
Games, what to expect:
The guides will demo each event and winners will receive a trophy at the podium presentation. We will have a PA so that Cole or any of the other guides can provide play-by-play commentary of the games. The games will take place by camp and will be easy to see for guests that aren’t riding.
Events include:
Last man standing: Six riders at a time will be placed into a marked off square area. The last rider to put a foot down wins that heat. Heat winners will advance to main event championship showdown!
No-dab Obstacle course: Think trials riding but on a big bike. Participants will follow a marked course around camp with various obstacles. Think off-camber corners, hills, and tight cedars.
How low can you go?: This will take place on a bermed up corner. Riders will corner under a limbo stick, rider to get the lowest wins.
Barrel Battle: If you’ve ever been to a rodeo, you know what to expect. There will be three barrels setup and riders will complete closed turns around each barrel. Top times will advance to next round until there are only two riders left for a final battle. Red Bull is bringing a laser timing and scoring rig so that we can have even more accurate timing that in previous years.
We encourage everyone to participate in the games but if you don’t want to, we expect you to be on the sidelines heckling your friends that are participating!
Things to consider:
We have lots of mesquite trees and cactus at the ranch so we encourage you to use bibs or at the very least use heavy-duty tubes with sealant. The dirt is sandy hard-pack and we recommend either a soft terrain tire up front and something that wears longer in the rear. Michelin StarCross 6 med/soft front with the StarCross 6 med/hard rear is hard to beat! Our elevation is 3,000ft so jet accordingly. In December the temps range from 70 degrees to 10, so bring appropriate riding gear. Hand guards or deflectors are recommended. Guides will carry fanny packs with tools but we also encourage you to be self-sufficient on rides like this.
Lodging info:
There will be room for campers and rvs. Campfires are not allowed under any circumstances. There will be a community fire that people who are camping are welcome to come and enjoy.

What to expect:
The idea behind this ride is to get a group of enthusiasts together for an epic weekend of riding trails that aren't typically available for riding.
Riding outside of the camp area is only permitted with guides. There will be alternate sections marked for certain portion of trails that will allow an easier route around challenging terrain. Skratch labs will be providing relief stations along the trail to ensure that everyone stays hydrated and full of energy. All skill levels are welcome but the ride is limited to big bikes only. Wives welcome, but no ATVs or pit vehicles allowed. Mountain bikes are welcome!
The trails will range from bulldozer cuts through the caprock to technical sandy river beds and flowing cedar sections. We highly recommend running bibs and at the least, heavy duty tubes with sealant. Elevation is 3,200ft so jet accordingly. Temps range from the thirties to seventies in December. Groups can expect some excellent views and multiple stops at the waterfall so bring a camera! We encourage all participants to download the Rever app and add Cole Kirkpatrick as a friend. As we get closer to the ride, gps coordinates of the loop will be posted with the rever app for users to have during the event.
